Company description
Juici Patties started out as Juici Beef Patties, a company manufacturing and selling beef patties. It was established in 1981 and during that time it was only one store. The Founder, Jukie Chin learnt to make patties from the age of 16. It started as a cottage industry, where he manufactured patties in his mother’s kitchen and sold it to the small grocery store owned by the family .The demand for his product grew and he then established a store in May Pen, Clarendon . The staff included a baker a cashier and himself. He often times had to assume many roles.
The product line grew over the years, to include over fifty products comprising different types of patties, loaves, soups, porridges and traditional breakfast dishes. In an increasingly, fast-paced society, Juici developed a menu
The growth that followed was in response to customer demands, which was a reflection of the quality of the products. With the rapid expansion of the business, the 1994 manufacturing plant was no longer adequate to meet the demands and so a new 90,000 square feet plant was opened, late 2002. This new facility located in Clarendon Park, Clarendon, Jamaica was built to international specifications. It sits on a 22 acre property which houses a retail outlet with drive through facilities, 24 hour public rest room facilities, the Juici sports club and an abattoir. The staff sports centre includes a fully equipped gym and games room for table tennis and billiards.
The Clarendon plant is almost wholly self sufficient and is operated in an environmentally conscious manner. The company operates its own furniture manufacturing and welding centers, where furniture for the stores are made. An on-site auto service bay, maintains the fleet of approximately 30 trucks. The company has also installed a waste water treatment system for optimal environmental management.
In 2001, Juici Patties acquired a manufacturing plant in Ontario, Canada. No Juici retail store is present in Canada, but Juici beef, chicken, vegetable and shrimp patties are available in some of Canada's major supermarket chains and convenience stores. The Canadian plant is HACCP certified and currently services Juici Patties North American markets.
The Juici Patties success could not have been achieved without the support of a team of hardworking and dedicated staff. The Juici Group now employs in excess of 1500 people. Many of Jukie's early employees have literally grown up with him and stayed with him over the years, hence the strong "Juici family" bond, especially in Clarendon, Jamaica. They remain highly motivated and proud of the brand they have watched grown, and the legacy they have helped to create in terms of the preservation of a very strong part of the Jamaican culture-its food.
The Juici Patties chain of restaurants grew out of the efforts of a sixteen year old youth from rural Jamaica to provide self- employment. Jukie Chin started at the age of sixteen years to make Jamaican beef patties in his mother's kitchen and sold them in the family's small grocery store. Two and a half decades later, this enterprise has grown to be the Juici Patties many have come to know and love.
Jukie Chin graduated from Glenmuir High School in Clarendon, Jamaica at the age of 16, and worked for a short period at his sister's restaurant in Kingston, where he learnt to make patties. Equipped with the knowledge of making patties, he returned to his parents’ home in the little fishing village of Rocky Point in Clarendon. His parents operated a small grocery store in the community, and he began to make patties and sold them in their store.
He continued in Rocky Point for almost a year until he had saved enough money to open his first "official" store in the bustling town of May Pen. This store operated for some time with three members of staff, a cashier, a baker and Jukie. He often straddled the posts of general administrator, accountant, purchasing manager, cashier, baker, patty maker and server. The hours were long and the work was hard but he forged on.
Jukie's relentless drive to work continued over the years. He constantly worked on his product to perfect it, and his product certainly made a name for itself across rural Jamaica where his stores could be found. The number of stores grew to five and he decided this was as far as his business would go. The five stores were in Clarendon, St Catherine, Manchester and St. Elizabeth, and Juici, at the time was still essentially a "one man show". Work therefore, involved a lot of driving to the various locations and Jukie began to see his limit.
The 1990s however saw a new wave of expansion for the brand. The first set of 'franchising' partnerships was formed. Jukie along with four of his closest friends formed partnerships in various combinations and a number of new stores were opened. Stores were now also in Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Ann, and St. James. The late 1990's saw the franchising arrangement opening up to others outside the initial set, and the Juici family certainly grew. In August 2001 the opening of the Juici store in Falmouth, Trelawny brought the number of Juici stores to 34 and made Juici the only chain of restaurants / fast food stores to take its service to all fourteen parishes in Jamaica.
The expansion continued in response to customers’ demand and there are now a total of 60 stores, island wide and a centralized manufacturing plant which ensure consistency of the product offered. In 2001, Juici Patties acquired a manufacturing plant in Ontario, Canada. No Juici retail store is present in Canada, but Juici beef, chicken, vegetable and shrimp patties are available in some of Canada's major supermarket chains and convenience stores.

that reflected the taste of the Jamaican people, and offered them the kind of food most were accustomed to having. Jamaicans now had a place that offered their own food, at their convenience, in a comfortable setting comparable to international chains. Stop by the Sav La Mar uptown location November 29 with my family of 5
While some members were in line I attempted to use the restroom.
The Gaurdsman security said I needed a reciept
I responded by saying we are in line waiting to be served.
He responded even more rude than he was before, "there is no we standing in front of him."
I asked to speak to a manager and for the next 5 minutes while me and the security argued back and forth no manager showed.
Instead one of the staff proceeded to argue on the security behalf.
The reviews here shows that customer service is lacking throughout this company and obviously customer loyalty is of no importance.

I am a wholesaler who buys patties at the old harbour location. everyday when i call and order the patties i still have to go and wait one hour - two hours for the patties. the workers are so disgusting and the supervisors are the same. no one answers questions and give feedback and they act as if you are begging them something. they have no regard for the customers and they treat the customers bad. all the workers stand around the back and no one is at the front to deal with the customers. Sometimes they dont even have products to sell and they dont relay this information when you call or even when you go is when you start curse and gwaan bad they choose to answer you. If the service at this location doesnt get any better I will just cut patties from my list in my tuckshop and wait until another competitor is in Old harbour. If you dont care about your customers you will loose them.

Location : New Kingston
I must say all the staff at this location need go through a customer service course , to learn some tack and how to deal with customers.
I went to the store order a patty an a coco bread.
Me ( customer ) I asked the Attendant nicely can you warm the bread and put the patty in it for me please?
Attendant: No
Me : Why?
Attendant: The coco Bread is in a bag and it is hard to put the patty in the bag.
Me : Ok.
Then she put the coco bread in the bag in the same bag that the patty came, with the patty touching the coco bread bag. NOT ACCEPTABLE!!

I am a disgruntled customer. I brought 2 patties at your Beckford Street branch on Friday 13 of March and the crust wasn't baked properly so I ask to speak to the supervisor . When she finally came out she proceed to taste the meat in the patty so I told her it was the crust I had a problem with, then she taste the crust and said nothing was wrong with it. I told her that the crust was not baked properly and that she need to see to it that the person baking the patties, give it the right timing in the oven. To me she had already made her decision so I left leaving the patties on the counter and went to buy my patties at a Mother's Patty Branch were I got what I paid for. This is it, not ever one what we see on the road or that comes in our establishment we must judge them by their looks. As business people good customer service is always the key and no on not even my worst enemy should be serve something that is not cook properly. Have a good day and I hope it will happen to no one again, I know it won't happen to me because I won't be buying anything there again.
