Great first impression
I went there yesterday for the first time and I was quite impressed with the aesthetics and the level of professionalism. My natural hair stylist, Maureen, quickly made me feel comfortable and I'm very happy with my hairstyle. I've already recommended her to my son and I will definitely be coming back

1 good barber and 1 terrible barber
when i went to salon 10 for the first time i cut my hair and i was more than pleased as the barber was very good and he did exactly what i wanted, this was during summer. Months after i went back and there was a different barber this time. As soon as i sat in the chair he put the tissue around my neck and wrapped the sheet around me and without question started to cut my hair. How fast he cut it or the fact he cut it without question wasn't even the problem, it was how it looked after he cut it. When i saw it i swear him use a machete cause it did look ugly and my hairline started to recede. He just said back to school and start cut it and it wasnt even the type of hairstyle i wanted. I would give Salon 10 a 5 star but I think that you guys need to up the service by adding a better barber and removing the old brown man,Jason.

I wish I had found another place for a manicure & pedicure while in Kingston. I called to inquire about gel nails & was told they were done there - which is the only reason - I went there specifically. My tech struggled to take the polish off after I told her it was gel nail polish & briefed her the way it is usually removed - she replied, "I know, I know". She eventually went to get a large piece of foil to properly remove polish. From the method of foil application, I realized she had not done it before. I opted to get simple polish on both toes & hands at that moment. From then on the experience further declined. Without explanation, I was asked to move from the pedicure chair to a small room where the remainder of my services were performed. She used a bowl -designed for home pedicures- without plugging in for optimal performance. I was forced to use her lap (knee) instead of the wider, more comfortable area the pedicure chair provides. I noticed after a bit, there was someone else receiving services in the pedicure chair I was removed from! She used a small cuticle remover for lots more than just my cuticles, additionally. I mistakenly asked when she was going to be done with her schooling and was told she was an experienced professional of three years. That was unfathomable, but nevertheless we got to the manicure - if you can call it that. I never placed my hands in a bowl of any water. My cuticles were NOT pushed back. I did not receive a hand massage with lotion or any of the typical things ones receives with a routine manicure. I wanted tips & was refused because, according to her my nails were "too soft". They needed a break she said. I accepted a simple polish & got the heck out of there. This was more than two hours after I arrived!
