Megamart Jamaica - Kingston

MegaMart, the brain child of Jamaican businessman Gassan Azan (Jr.), revolutionized the landscape of retail shopping in Jamaica with the opening of its first outlet in Portmore, St. Catherine on September 1, 1999. With the advent of this location, shopping in a single location suddenly became multifaceted with grocery, bakery, haberdashery, clothing, electronics, liquor, food court and a pharmacy all under one roof. MegaMart created a one stop shopping experience, coupled with the convenience of shopping until 10 pm seven days per week, another first in the local retail market.

Originally conceptualized as a membership club, it should be noted that MegaMart is no longer limited to members. All persons are welcome to enjoy the unique shopping experience.

Portmore location, a second store was opened in Kingston on December 7, 2003. It was only a natural progression for the operation to be expanded to Montego Bay, with the opening of that store on December 7, 2007; this location is the largest of the four. Like its sister stores, MegaMart Montego Bay also provides a similar shopping experience for our clientèle based in the Western region of the island. On Wednesday January 23, 2013 the Mandeville location was added and the store opened to a roaring and excited crowd in Bloomfield, Manchester. The layout of this location is different but we still provide our customer with a premier shopping experience.

To provide customers with even greater convenience, all the MegaMart locations have Bank of Nova Scotia ABM machines, Bill Express outlets to facilitate bill payments, Supreme Ventures gaming outlets, as well as Western Union and telecommunications services. The Portmore branch also boasts a FedEx drop-off service.

MegaMart continues to be a leader in the retail industry; in 2013 we created history with our advent of 24 hr shopping a service which has never been offered before in the Jamaican retail industry.
