The National Health Fund (NHF) is an agency of the Ministry of Health and was established in 2003 by the National Health Fund Act. The NHF provides financial support to our national healthcare system in order to improve its effectiveness and the affordability of healthcare for the Jamaican population.
What we do
Help Jamaican residents to access medication in both the public and private health sectors through the provision of the NHF Card and the Jamaica Drug for the Elderly Programme (JADEP) Card and the administration of the Government of Jamaica Health Card.
Delivery of in-patient and outpatient pharmacy services for the public health sector. This includes the management of the medical warehouse and of over 118 pharmacy locations in the public health system, providing full time
Provide grants to institutions to improve health care delivery including infrastructure development, training, disaster preparedness, medical equipment and transportation. Project management is an important part of our work which extends to not only internal projects but major projects for our parent Ministry.
Support multiple health-promotion programmes to aid in the prevention, reduction and management of non-communicable and communicable diseases.The NHF is ISO 9001:2015 certified and is therefore focused on continuous improvement of our processes to ensure customer satisfaction for both internal and external customers. Good corporate governance and the management of risk are also hallmarks of our operations.

Poor medication was prescribed instead let patio suffer
I went to the clinic Monday for my ears. After assessment I was place with an Indian doctor. She looked an my ears an call another To look. She said I had an infection. I thought she would give me something to relieve the pain, no ear just pills. After taking the medication she gave me. Overnight was a nightmare so I went back an go thru the line again. Now I seen doctor #******** who saw me an said that the medication would work in a couple days to a week, I ask why not the ears drop. He went around it,an said that the medication cannot be give at the clinic pharmacy an I had to buy it. This is a lie. I went to chess clinic pharmacy an she said they did not have any more. She gave me the number for drug serv. I went to crossroad where they have it but I gave to come back on Saturday. she said duaneypark clinic has the ears. I think these two doctor are not doctors but paid doctors only money count. From Monday I have been suffering and these two doctor should evaluate there future cause if they can say the price of the medication goes w

I believe doctors like the Indian lady and doc#******** should change their views on patients health. Human rights should be aleted on this situation. I am in such a pain and at the moment. But as doctors says I should be glad I got looked at and it's free.
