Job Title
Senior Auditor (BDO)Job Presentation
The Senior Auditor is responsible for ensuring successful completion of assigned audit engagements, from start to finish, inclusive of pre-planning and wrap-up activities. He/She takes charge of the day-to-day conduct of the audit, including managing and directing the activities of more junior auditors assigned to the team, and takes full responsibility for an audit or group of audits, and reports to a Manager/Group Leader or Assistant Audit Manager.

Responsibilities
- Conducts assigned audit engagements successfully from beginning to end, ensuring that the responsible partner and senior managers are involved in the discussions during the preparation of the audit plan, and approves and signs off on the plan before the start of the audit.
- Supervises junior auditors assigned to engagements on field assignments, providing guidance and overall review of deliverables, ensuring adherence at all times to all applicable department and professional standards, in line with policies and procedures.
- Communicates assigned tasks to engagement team in a manner that is clear and concise, ensuring high quality, accurate and efficient results and organizes personal efforts along with those of the team to be risk-based, productive and efficient at all times.
- Develops audit programs and testing procedures relevant to risk and test objectives.
- Ensures timely completion of assignments under portfolio by leading audit teams effectively, ensuring quality of work is consistently up to standard and helping to build the BDO Brand. Liaises with clients in meeting their expectations and assists in sustaining client-friendly relationships.
- Reviews working paper files prepared by assistants/audit staff, to ensure compliance with BDO methodology, IFRS and IAS standards and assists in the analysis of audit problems, identifying core issues and determining solutions.
- Identifies issues/material problems for reporting in the management letter, and other communications with management, and assists in drafting the final documents to clients for Assistant Manager’s and Manager’s review. Informs partner/management team of any material problems as quickly as possible.
- Assists with training, coaching and counseling members of the Audit team facilitating their personal development, completing performance reviews and reports outlining their progress, and updates senior management of outstanding performance /achievements as well as poor performance, as deemed necessary.
- Assists in risk assessment and mitigation activities, and reviews & ensures that time charged to assignments are representative of work done. Submit completed timesheets on a weekly basis.
- Assists in monitoring time and costs on assignments in a timely basis and ensure that budgets are not exceeded, and review points are cleared.
- Assists in monitoring and maintaining discipline, punctuality and professionalism of personnel in the group ensuring work areas and kept tidy and orderly and that client records are promptly returned at the conclusion of assignments.
