WORST HOSPITAL
This is the worst place to go get emergency care. the doctors and nurses are beyond disgusting and unprofessional. they don't care about patients not even a little bit. They treat patients worst than dog.

Worst Public Hospital in Jamaica total Dump
I had a sick family member who was transferred there from a rural hospital for emergency brain surgery. We were given a prescription to buy the items needed for the surgery on a Saturday from a medical supplies store because the hospital did not have them in stock smh. Eventrally the surgery was done through the intervention of another doctor because we could not get any information from the hospital.Visiting the hospital on a daily basis was an emotional nightmare because after a major surgery my relative was never assigned a aftercare doctor or nurse thus we were no able to get any information on the surgery or what we needed to do next. The whole experience was so poor the only reason i rated it 1star was because the option of 0star was unavailable.

KPH is the best in the entire Caribbean even patients from other Caribbean Countries come there to do surgery, I don't know what happened when your family was there so sorry for your bad experience. Hope your family had recovery fully and is OK now. KPH have the best Doctors
PUBLIC USER
I had two surgery free of costs at Kingston public hospital and they were a success. it was like a mini-vacation, my surrounding was clean three times a day, big up the cleaning crew on 3 west, I had breakfast lunch and dinner at the right time, tasty too, didn't expect that. the nurse and doctor come to my call when necessary.
Some people go to Public and expect the nurses to read their minds and they refuse to ask questions so they will come away with an impression that is not good.
KPH A DI BEST HOSPITAL!!!!

Description
The South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) is a statutory body of the Ministry of Health. SERHA is one of four Regional Health Authorities formed as a part of the Health Sector reform, by passage of the National Health Services Act in 1997.
SERHA is responsible for the delivery of health care services to the residents of St. Catherine, St. Thomas, Kingston and St. Andrew. This represents 47% of the population of Jamaica.
Health Care is delivered through a network of nine hospitals and 91 Health Centres. Five of the nine hospitals within the region are also specialist or National Referral Hospitals. Some of these institutions also accept patients referred from other Caribbean islands
SERHA employs approximately 8,000 people from a variety of medical and non-medical groups. These include staff directly involved with health care delivery, for example nurses, doctors, technologists, pharmacists, health record administrators, attendants and public health inspectors. There are other staff members who work to ensure that the health care delivery system functions at an optimal level and give support to those charged with the direct delivery of health care. These include among others the Management Information Systems staff, maintenance teams, Human Resource, administrative and accounting staff.
SERHA is managed by a team of directors ably led by the Regional Director who reports to a Board, which is appointed by the Minister of Health. The region is funded by allocations from the Ministry of Health.
