Job Purpose:

As the Senior Director Legal and Enforcement, you will play a critical role in shaping and enforcing regulatory policies to ensure compliance. You will oversee all legal matters, enforcement actions and regulatory initiatives to uphold standards and protect the public interest. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with organisational goals, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, assess their impact on the organisation, and implement compliance programs to mitigate risks.
  • Lead enforcement actions and investigations related to legal and regulatory violations, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure swift and effective resolution. 
  • Litigation management 
  • Review and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to safeguard the organisation’s rights and interests.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the legal and enforcement team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and integrity. 

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from an accredited law school, with active membership in the bar association 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience practising law, with a focus on regulatory compliance and enforcement 
  • In depth knowledge of laws and regulations governing the respective industries regulated by the organisation 
  • Experience working in a regulatory agency or similar government entity. 
  • Strong understanding of administrative law and regulatory processes
  • Proven track record of managing legal and enforcement teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing regulatory policies and procedures. 
  • Ability to collaborate with other government agencies, industry stakeholders and legal professionals. 
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
