JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Accounting Clerk is responsible for assisting with co-ordination and supervision of all general ledger activities necessary to facilitate the preparation of the monthly Financial Statements. He/She ensures that proper/relevant source documents accompany cheque requisitions along with the relevant authorization or approval, prior to cheque preparation; and ensures that the Cash/Bank balance is provided on a daily basis. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education/Experience:

• ACCA II or First Degree in Accounts or related subject
• At least 2 years' experience in a similar position
• Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel Specifications
• Ability to communicate effectivelyin oral and written form
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Working knowledge of Audit procedures
• Sound knowledge and understanding of the Staff Orders and the relevant Circulars published by the Ministry of Finance & Planning from time to time
• Basic knowledge of the provisions of the Financial Administration and Audit Act, and the Public Bodies Management & Accountability Act, particularly those sections relevant to the Authority and Regional Bodies
• Discretion when dealing with confidential information
• Good organizational skills
• Good supervisory skills
