  • Delapenha Funeral Home Limited is a reputable and compassionate funeral service provider in Jamaica, dedicated to offering dignified and professional services to grieving families. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to support families during their time of loss with sensitivity and respect.


Responsibilities
Funeral Home
  • Removal of deceased persons from homes, roadways, hospitals, funeral homes and any other places.
  • Transfer the deceased to funeral homes.
  • Placing the casket in the funeral parlor or chapel before services
  • Organizing flower arrangements around the casket
  • Assist mourners, family members, visitors at the funeral home, churches, crematorium and cemeteries.
  • Assist in mortuary area i.e. lifting and embalming deceased as requested
  • Assist in dressing, casketing and cosmeticize of deceased
  • Take out and place deceased persons in refrigerators.
  • Record keeping - Employee must confirm the identity of the deceased that they are in possession of handling, attending, and/or transporting.
  • Clean mortuary area.
  • Loading vehicle at the start of shift, sheet, stretcher, gloves, jar with rags, Virofax disinfectant, etc.
  • Assist with cremations, and with the processing and packaging of cremated remains. 
Funeral Service
  • Storing funeral equipment after services are complete.
  • Close caskets at appropriate points in services.
  • Perform a variety of tasks during funerals to assist funeral directors and to ensure that services run smoothly and as planned.
  • Direct and coordinated funeral services at chapel, churches, crematorium and cemeteries.
  • Act as pallbearers
  • Answer questions and offer assistance to clients in coordination with the funeral director to help arrange funeral services
  • Work with a team to prepare parlor and burial sites with personalized items as requested by clients
  • Not limited to the functions and responsibilities of the above. 


Skills
Available to work nights, weekends, holidays and to be on call
Must have an attention to detail and excellent communication skills
Ability to lift at least 75 pounds
