The Jamaica Bauxite Institute seeks to engage a qualified and experienced individual for the following position:

MESSENGER/DRIVER​​​​​​​BAND 2 ($1,181,428.00 – 1,588,889.00)

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Office and Transport Manager, the Messenger/Driver will be required to:

▪ Clear the Institute's mail box on a daily basis, and deliver mail to the Office Clerk
▪ Deliver and collect letters and other items as directed and obtain the necessary acknowledgements of all deliveries
▪ Ensure that fleet vehicle is in good working condition, kept clean at all times and serviced as per schedule
▪ Transport staff members as required
▪ Mail all letters, documents, etc., (collected from various offices) on a daily basis
▪ Do routine mechanical checks on a weekly basis to ensure proper functioning of the vehicle
▪ Delivering packages to customers in a timely manner.
▪ Collect office purchases or other administrative needs as per request.
▪ Updating monthly mileage records.
▪ Collecting, checking, and signing for packages at their respective collection points.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Messenger/Driver

▪ Five CXCs inclusive of English Language
▪ Possession of a current General Driver's License (6000kg)

Interested applicant must possess a minimum of Three (3) years’ working experience as a licensed driver operating units similar to those in the Institute’s Fleet for consideration.
